More details

Wine & Trekking is an immersive experience in the world of heroic viticulture in Valtellina, from the vine to the glass.

During the trek, an expert guide will illustrate the characteristics of the Valtellina terroir and the biological cycle of the vine, with particular reference to the "Nebbiolo delle Alpi", which finds its ideal territory in Valtellina.

Topics ranging from geological to climatic, naturalistic, historical and anthropomorphic aspects that directly influence cultivation and consequently the appearance of the territory on which the Valtellina terraces rest, with their 2,500km of dry stone walls defined by UNESCO as "Intangible Heritage of Humanity", will be explored.

An excursion that offers breathtaking views in one of the most suggestive production sub-zones of the renowned Valtellina Superiore DOCG and Sforzato DOCG, that of Valgella, which with its approximately 140ha is the largest and most eastern of the sub-zones.

Following the path of the grape, we will return to the cellar where the various phases that follow the harvest will be illustrated, such as the fermentation processes, aging in barrels and barriques up to bottling.

Everything will conclude with a well-deserved tasting of three wines from Casa Vinicola Nera, a historic reference winery in the valley, accompanied by a tasting of cheeses and cured meats from small local artisans.
