Glaciers and climate change: a journey through time.

Glaciers are living witnesses to Earth's history, but today they are also a symbol of ongoing climate change. During this hike, we will closely explore a glacial environment, observing its characteristics and the signs of its retreat.

We will discuss how the climate is transforming the mountains and what we can do to protect these fragile ecosystems.

An experience that combines science, nature, and environmental awareness.

The activity has a duration of approximately 5/6 hours and includes:

  • A Mid-Mountain Guide;
  • Professional third-party liability insurance for the Guide;
  • N.B. The experience runs with a minimum of 3 participants from late June to September. The price shown is per person. Please contact the facility directly to arrange a date.

WHO IS VALENTINA

"My name is Valentina Porro. I was born in Como in 1990, and ever since I was a child, I've loved outdoor sports. In 1993, I put on skis for the first time, starting a passion that grew over the years to become a profession.

I started with a ski club and competitions, eventually choosing to turn this passion into a job. I became a ski instructor in 2012 and later a STF 2 federal coach in 2015, specializing in teaching people with disabilities.

I had the pleasure of collaborating with two clubs, guiding many young people in their athletic and personal growth. Today, I work in Bormio, at the Contea Ski School.

In parallel, another great passion has always been part of my life: the mountains, experienced through running, hiking, and climbing. This love led me to pursue a career as a Mid-Mountain Guide (AMM), a profession that allows me to share my connection with nature and my experience with others.

In my projects and excursions, I don't just offer simple treks: each experience is designed to foster personal growth, so that the mountains become a place of discovery, learning, and awareness."
